Former Indian player and famous commentator Aakash Chopra, while congratulating India on the victory, said that usually no team is able to win by 228 runs in an ODI but India did it. Praising Virat Kohli for his century, Aakash Chopra said that the entire Pakistan team could score only 6 more than Virat Kohli‘s personal score.
Indian team’s dominance was visible in the rain-affected match of Asia Cup Super 4 against Pakistan, where first on the basis of centuries of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, Indian team scored a massive score of 356 runs and in reply, Pakistan came out to chase the score.
The team could not handle the pressure of this big match and was reduced to just 128 in front of the Indian bowlers and Pakistan had to lose the match by a huge margin of 228 runs.
Pakistan were totally destroyed in the match- Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel and was quite furious on Pakistani cricket team for not putting up a fight during the steep run chase. Aakash Chopra pointed out that Pakistan cricket team scored only 6 runs more than Virat Kohli’s knock of 122 runs.
“Give the follow-on because you don’t register a 228-run win in ODI cricket but India did it. They made 356 and stopped Pakistan at 128. Kohli alone made 122 and the entire team made only six more than him,” said Aakash Chopra.
“The truth is that they were totally destroyed in the match. I get three words in my mind – destruction, demolition, annihilation. Pakistan felt something like that in yesterday’s game,” he added.
The Indian team dominated Pakistan from the first over of this match, where the openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman first added 121 runs, while on the reserve day, both the new batsmen Virat Kohli and KL Rahul did not allow any Pakistani bowler to dominate and remained unbeaten.
Added 233 runs while staying. KL Rahul, returning after injury, scored unbeaten 111 runs on 106 balls, while Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 122 runs on 94 balls. During his century, he also made the record of scoring the fastest 13,000 runs in ODI and also scored his 47th century in ODI.
Rain cause a lot of interruptions but the reserve day came in handy- Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra praised Indian batters for dominating Pakistan seamers even after rain interrupted the game how Indian batters stayed with the plan and executed it very well. and he also criticized opposition team for such terrible performance.
“Rain caused a lot of interruptions but the reserve day came in handy. They almost started on the 11th from where they left off on the 10th. 24 overs had been bowled and 147 had been scored. India had lost only two wickets and after that, they didn’t get even a single wicket. It was amazing,” he stated.
“Pakistan had problems and they multiplied many-fold by the time the innings ended because Haris Rauf wasn’t available at all. He got a slight side strain when he was bowling on the 10th. The good thing is that it’s not a tear but he didn’t bowl a single ball and Naseem Shah got injured just before the end,” he added.
While giving reviews on match in his YouTube channel Aakash Chopra added that Pakistan is probably going out of the Asia Cup which was once considered as the winners of the tournament.
