Wasim Akram has started playing mind games ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash scheduled on 2nd September. Wasim Akram said that India have a balanced squad and pointed out that BCCI’s selection panel have tried new players in the T20 format and have appointed a new captain as well in the form of Hardik Pandya.
Pakistan though will have to bring their ‘A’ game if the side wants to beat India. India’s openers Rohit Sharma & Shubman Gill will have to carefully negate the threat of the left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi & right-arm pacer Naseem Shah as the duo can rattle the opposition with express pace.

Wasim Akram was having an interaction with the reporters in a promotional event ahead of Asia Cup 2023. Wasim Akram said that India has a balanced squad and at the same time pointed out that it won’t be easy for India to dictate the terms. Wasim Akram stated that other teams like Sri Lanka & Bangladesh can’t be taken lightly in the championship.
“I think they are trying different things, new players especially in the T20 format, also a new captain. They have a balanced squad. But it will not be easy for India or any team,” said Wasim Akram.
“India versus Pakistan is very important, we know about so much support (teams get), so many eyeballs, so many people (following). But other teams are also here to play so you cannot minus Sri Lanka or Bangladesh,” he added.
Exciting contest on Cards
The rivalry between India & Pakistan over the last couple of years have got bigger than ever. Skipper Babar Azam & Rizwan will have to guide the batters in the middle overs phase and perhaps play a bit more aggressively. Both the sides have got a dangerous top order but the top order is somewhat fragile.
All eyes will be on the star batter Virat Kohli who is in the form of his life as his wicket is still quite decisive in the contest. There have been talks going on that Virat would bat at No.4 position but it looks unlikely that would happen as the batter has got a terrific track record at No.3 batting position.
