Indian veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh opined that Shreyas Iyyer should not be dropped after just one game after KL Rahul is fit to play, Replacing a player after just a game will affect his confidence no doubt KL Rahul is an excellent player but he has to wait for his chance.
KL Rahul was missing group stage games of Asia Cup due to injury and now he is available in Sri Lanka to play the rest of the games. India is playing Against Pakistan on 10 September and it seems that KL Rahul is going to replace Shreyas Iyer.
Ishan Kishan has impressed with his exceptional batting when other big players failed to surpass the Pakistani seamers and Shubman Gill scored an unbeatable half-century against Nepal so now just Shreyas Iyer left which could be the option to be replaced by KL Rahul in the upcoming game because he just made 14 runs against Pakistan. Turbunator Harbhajan Singh stated that Iyyer doesn’t deserve this ignorance just after one game and KL Rahul should not replace him until he failed in one more game.

Harbhajan questioned team management’s decision to keep replacing players just after one failure.
“Shreyas Iyer also has just come in after an injury, and he should be given a proper opportunity. It should not be like if Iyer does not score runs in a game, then he is dropped for KL Rahul, and if KL Rahul does not score in the next game, then Suryakumar Yadav is brought in, it should not be like that,”

In the game against Pakistan Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya were the only batters who came in front and scored big runs and saved the team from collapse so if KL Rahul plays the next game it won’t be Ishan Kishan who’s going to be replaced. Harbhajan while talking Ishan Kishan’s side said that he cemented his position in the team and he should not be replaced if KL Rahul gets a chance to play in the next game.
“Ishan Kishan has absolutely sealed his position in the playing XI, because if we drop him and bring in someone else at this point in time, then it won’t be right. For me, Ishan just has to play, it is important. Now even if KL Rahul is fit, I think Ishan Kishan should be given the opportunity,” he added.”
