The Former Australian Bowler Doug Bollinger has backed one of the most dynamic duos James Anderson and Stuart Broad. He is impressed by the English selectors and felt that they made the right choice of sustaining them in the playing XI.

Stuart Board has played 162 matches and scalped 582 wickets, his performance in Test format has always been outstanding. While James Anderson has made more appearances than Broad in the Test series playing 179 matches and taking 685 wickets in total. Both of their performance has been up to the mark, and they will prove to be very impactful in the Marquee Ashes, starting from today onwards.

“It Shows Good Faith In The England Selectors..” – Doug Bollinger

Doug Bollinger has commended the England selectors for their faith in Anderson and Broad and is adamant the two will perform well across the series. He stated while talking to a reporter in Sen 1170 Mornings:

“It shows good faith in the England selectors. It just shows that they back them as well and will stand behind them. England won’t just get rid of them and drop them so I’m really impressed, It’s what people want to see because of that bat and ball contest.” said Doug Bollinger.

“That’s why I love watching Test cricket in England because something is always happening (when Anderson or Broad have the ball). I’m really impressed and (Anderson and Broad) have had amazing careers.” he added.

Bollinger Believes In The Resilience Of Australia Rather Than ‘Bazball’

Bollinger isn’t buying into the Bazball hype and believes Australia’s bowlers will be relentless in their approach and grind the England batters down.

“It can work and if it does work then best of luck to you, It’s fairly courageous going into the first Ashes test. Once the ball starts swinging and then turning, that’s when attack goes out the window because you can’t predict where the ball is going to be. I don’t think it’s going to work but it’s made people excited and generated headlines.” said Doug Bollinger.

He opines that Australia will assert it’s dominance against England, and will grind its way to win the Marquee Ashes. As he refutes the hypothesis and the thought that ‘Bazball’ will facilitate England to win against the Mighty Aussies.
