Anil Kumble, a renowned coach and former Indian cricket player, gave insightful remarks on the difficulties England faced on their most recent tour of India.

Speaking about how tough it was for England to beat India at home, Kumble emphasized how difficult the challenge was. Anil Kumble gave the England team a reality check following their series defeat by India during their current test tour.

Kumble took over 619 Test wickets, so he is undoubtedly familiar with winning test matches away from home. Therefore, it is not surprising that the former cricket player from India has become unhinged in response to England’s Bazball threat. Regarding India’s domestic performances, he was rather confident, and his young countrymen have more than lived up to it.

The renowned spinner assessed the touring team’s bowling attack as a weakness in an interview with JioCinema. Anil Kumble discussed in the interview how England understood going into the match that they would need to be different when playing India.

But the former cricketer claimed that England’s bowling was lacking since they were unable to pose any threat to India when they were batting.

“They knew they had to be different but their bowling attack wasn’t certainly something that they believed would be able to penetrate the Indian batting,” Kumble said.

“See the challenge when England came here was obvious. India is not going to be easy. Bazball or whatever ball you call it…but it’s not going to be easy beating India at home. That is the reason why India has been so dominant over the years,” Kumble added.

There are other Indian cricketer alongside Anil Kumble who have made subtle jabs at England’s style of play in the Test format. Following the victory, Virender Sehwag took mockery at England.

Batting icon Virender Sehwag sent out a post on X that read:

 “Keep entertaining, England. India, Australia and New Zealand can do the boring job of winning”.  

Sehwag stated in his tweet that although fans have enjoyed watching England’s aggressive cricket approach, it hasn’t yet yielded positive outcomes.
