ICC World Cup 2023 favorites and five-time world champion Australia has disappointed the cricket world with their worst performance. First, they lost to India with six wickets, and South Africa stunned the Magnificent Aussies with a 134-run margin. former Indian batter Aakash Chopra feels the situation is worse for Australia now.

Before the start of the tournament, everyone was giving Australia the title of champion in advance. They performed below par and created hurdles on the way semifinals. Their batting looked down, their fielding was worse, and their bowling also never looked on track.

Australia seemed a different unit as their batters’ hardly showed any intent on the given day against a quality South African bowling line up. The batters lacked mental application on belter of a track which raised a lot of eyebrows amongst the cricket fraternity.

We didn’t think this Australia would become so ordinary in the big tournament- Aakash Chopra

While talking about Australia’s bad run in the on-going ICC World Cup 2023, on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra expressed his concern about their situation. Aakash Chopra pointed out that Aussies dropped 6 catches against South Africa and was quite shocked to see that how Australia became an ordinary team in tournament.

“I have started getting a little worried about Australia’s situation because you couldn’t play spin better in Chennai, you couldn’t play fast bowling in Lucknow, and you could not grab the opportunities on the field. Mitchell Marsh dropped Virat Kohli’s catch, which cost a six-wicket downgrade, and after that, you dropped six catches against South Africa,” said Aakash Chopra.

“We didn’t think this team would become so ordinary in the big tournament. The situation has turned from bad to worse now. You have lost to both India and South Africa. It seems like Australia’s form has not come out of immigration at all,”  he added.
