MI Emirates bowled brilliantly, using left-arm spinners Waqar Salamkheil and Akeal Hoesin to hold the Warriors to 129 runs. They spun a web after the powerplay and prevented the Sharjah batters from scoring freely. Waqar Salamkheil foxed the batters with his witty variations and bowled wicket to wicket which frustrated the batters.

In the 18th match of the DP World ILT20 season 2 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Friday, the Sharjah Warriors collapsed against the table-toppers, MI Emirates, losing by eight wickets. In their previous match, MI Emirates, who had bowled out the Warriors for 74, won by 106 runs.

Pitch Report and Toss Update

Sheikh Zayed Stadium’s pitch was an even surface. The pitch is expected to be suitable for batting. Having the ball skid off the surface will facilitate playing shots. Considering the conditions, MI Emirates won the toss and chose to bowl first because the dew would make bowling in the second innings more challenging.

Sharjah Warriors got off to a mediocre start

Charles, the Warriors’ opening batsman, struck the first powerful hit in the second over, hitting Boult for a six, over deep mid-wicket, and a boundary to mid-on. In the third over, opener Niroshan Dickwella then struck two consecutive boundaries off Hosein.

Dickwella was stopped by Boult after his flick nicked a top edge, and Hosein grabbed it at mid-on for a 17. Charles would have followed Dickwella at 18, but Akeal Hosein let a simple catch go at mid-on off Fazalhaq Faooqi.

Before succumbing to Waqar Salamkheil, Mark Deyal scored just nine runs in seven balls. In the eighth over, Hosein struck on back-to-back deliveries to trap Charles (29) and Basil Hameed leg before. This interrupted the flow of the runs, and the Warriors were having trouble at 62 for 4 at the halfway point.

Sharjah Warriors’ middle order faltered against Waqar Salamkheil

Before Sean Williams hit a boundary off Muhammad Rohid in the 12th over, the Warriors were unable to score any boundaries for 31 balls. In the 14th over, Waqar Salamkheil clean bowled Daniel Sams and then continued to strike off consecutive deliveries, trapping Lewis Greogory leg before for 11.

By the fifteenth over, Williams and James Fuller had taken the total to 106, and then Farooqi clean-bowled Fuller for four runs. Williams put up a valiant 35 runs before Boult claimed his second wicket, and the Warriors were bowled out for a meager 129 runs.

None of the Warriors’ batsmen could rise to the occasion, with the exception of Williams, who hit 35 off 25 balls with three boundaries and a six, and Johnson Charles, who hit 29 off 31 balls with three boundaries and a six.

With Trent Boult and Akeal Hosein taking a couple of wickets apiece and Waqar Salamkheil producing that amazing spell in the middle overs, the bowlers had very much set the stage for the MI Emirates.

MI Emirates opener set the game for the team with their powerful hitting

MI Emirates showed off their batting prowess and reached the goal in 11.1 overs with ease. Muhammad Waseem, the captain of the UAE and the first opener for MI Emirates, delivered a brilliant knock using his aggressive strokes.

After hitting two straight boundaries off Chris Woakes in the first over, he blasted three sixes and two boundaries off Mark Watt to take 27 runs off the over. With two more boundaries from Kusal Perera off Woakes, MI Emirates reached fifty runs in just three overs.

The manner in which the two destroyed the attack gave the impression that they were competing to be the first to reach their half century. Muhammad Jawadullah, a left-arm bowler, removed Waseem for 37 when he was caught by Williams at mid-wicket. He hit four boundaries and three sixes in his 13-ball knockoff.

Nicholas Pooran and Andre Fletcher gave the finishing touches to seal the game

In just 5.3 overs, he scored 80 runs. James Fuller clean bowled Perera for 47 off 27 balls, five boundaries, and two sixes. With 53 balls remaining, team captain Nicholas Pooran (24*) and Andre Fletcher (22*) efficiently guided their side to victory.

One positive thing for the Warriors was that Maheesh Theekshana kept bowling well and was the only player whose economy rate wasn’t in the double digits. The biggest surprise was that Mark Watt, the substitute that the Warriors brought off the bench, went for a whopping 27 runs in the one over he bowled.

  1. What I do not understand is how you are not even more well-liked than you currently are. You are exceptionally intelligent and know so much about this subject that it caused me to believe it from a multitude of perspectives. It seems that people are not interested in anything related to Lady Gaga. Your own work is consistently excellent.
