Sunil Gavaskar believes Kishan is going to make a massive difference at no 5 in the World Cup for team India after witnessing his performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup. IKishan has similar traits to Rishabh Pant and can be a lethal batter on a given day.
Ishan Kishan showed admirable patience against Pakistan-Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar was having an interaction with the media and was impressed with the way Kishan batted against Pakistan in the first round of Asia Cup 2023. Sunil Gavaskar said that Kishan showed immense temperament while batting with Hardik Pandya.
“Ishan Kishan showed admirable patience against Pakistan at the start he made sure the danger was seen away. He hung around with Hardik Pandya and then started to play his shots,” said Sunil Gavaskar.
“That is really a very very encouraging sign because for somebody as young as him to show the temperament he showed in that particular game means that he has a bright future ahead of him,” he added.
“Definitely sealed his spot in the middle order and also gives you a left-handed option in the middle. India don’ n’t have a left-hander at the top 4 then Hardik Pandya Ishan Kishan at no 5 makes a lot of sense,” he added.
