Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the toss and asked Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to bowl first in the high voltage clash. The dynamic left handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is in the form of his life after decimating England in the recently concluded 5 Test match series. Yashasvi Jaiswal would be keen to make a case for himself for the upcoming T20 WC 2024.
RR had a forgettable start as the scintillating right handed batter Jos Buttler was out for 11 runs in 9 balls. Buttler tried a bit too hard to dictate the terms and was outplayed by the speedster Naveen-ul-Haq. RR had a topsy turvy start to their innings who scored 13 runs in the first 2 overs for the loss of 1 wicket.
Mohsin Khan foxes Yashasvi Jaiswal
The dismissal of Jos Buttler didn’t affect RR much as Yashasvi Jaiswal unleashed attack on the opposition. In the 3rd over, Yashasvi Jaiswal took the attack against Mohsin Khan and smashed him for back to back boundaries. Yashasvi Jaiswal was slowly getting into the groove.
At the end of 4 overs, RR’s score was 32-1 and astonishingly KL Rahul gave the ball to Mohsin Khan who was bowling his third over. Yashasvi Jaiswal asserted his dominance over Yashasvi Jaiswal, just before his dismissal, Yashasvi had smashed him for a gigantic six. On the last delivery of the 5th over, Mohsin Khan cramped him for a bit of room and Yashasvi gave a regulation catch to mid on at Krunal Pandya. Yashasvi Jaiswal was back into the dug out after scoring 24 runs in 12 balls and struck 3 fours and 1 six. RR’s score at 5 overs was 49-2.
Game in even balance
LSG would sense that they now have a great chance of pulling the things back after a turbulent start by RR’s openers and Sanju Samson. It would be interesting to see how does the likes of Krunal Pandya & Ravi Bishnoi fare in this summit clash as all eyes will be on Riyan Parag who has received a lot of flak for his below par performances.
LSG skipper KL Rahul would be well aware of the fact that they can’t go overboard as RR have got two pinch hitters present in the form of Devdutt Padikkal & Shimron Hetmyer who can demolish the opposition on the given day. RR would be eyeing a score in excess of 170 runs as LSG too possess a dangerous batting line up who can dismantle any bowling attack on the given day.
