Marcus Stoinis is a very useful all round player that a team can have. He can chip in with a few handy overs as he did against Mumbai Indians win their last win at Ekana Stadium.

With a four-wicket victory over the Mumbai Indians at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow, the Lucknow Super Giants were able to get back on track. Marcus Stoinis’s performance, which included a half-century at bat and a wicket taken during the powerplay, was the driving force behind LSG’s victory.

In just the third over of the powerplay, the dangerous T20 specialist Suryakumar Yadav was removed by the Australian international who had begun with the new ball. Using the swing that was available, the medium pacer was able to bowl three of the first six overs in the powerplay, finishing with figures of 1/19.

Marcus Stoinis the bowler

Stoinis while speaking in the post-match presentation said :

“Nice to bowl with the new ball. As someone who is not quick, I can try to shape the ball. Did not expect to bowl three in the powerplay but nice to bowl”

Stoinis thought that the wicket that was used was a bit on the slower side but was suggesting that they could have finished off the chase much quicker than taking it to the final over where things got shaky for LSG but got over the line.

He added, “I thought the wicket was okay. We knew it was going to be slow. We could have pushed the envelope and scored a bit faster. If those partnerships went for 8-10 more balls, we would have done it more easily.”

Stoinis scored a very solid 62 in 45 deliveries, showcasing his batting skills. However, Mohammad Nabi removed him with a shorter delivery that the hitter attempted to chase but instead found the fielder at the square-leg boundary lines.
