After losing nine wickets in their first innings, Rishabh Pant and his team could not set a high target for KKR, only managing to score 153 in their first innings. The toss decision contributed significantly to the Delhi Capitals’ defeat.
The Delhi Capitals did not have a great start to the first innings against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The captain himself, Rishabh Pant, and Kuldeep Yadav were the only batsmen to score in their position. Despite scoring 27 runs off of just 20 balls, Rishabh Pant was unable to make the most of his inning. On the other side, Kuldeep Yadav stood tall, helping the Capitals surpass 150 runs with 35 runs in 26 deliveries and remaining not out.
However, Kolkata has been impressive throughout the tournament. They bounced back from a devastating loss to Punjab Kings (PKBS) to defeat DC handily. Phil Salt, ever the showman, scored a solid 68 of 33 with a strike rate of 206. Meanwhile, captain Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer worked together to close the game and send KKR to victory.

There has always been a mix of good and bad decisions made in the games, but a former Indian player expresses his disappointment on Twitter, citing a similar pitch on which Punjab has easily reached the target of 261. He is curious as to why Rishabh Pant opted to bat and is not even aware of the explanation behind this choice.
