Graeme Smith (former South African Captain) was severely disappointed at Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka for bashing out at LSG skipper KL Rahul in front of the whole crowd, following their defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday, May 8. Even though Smith is aware of the roller-coaster of emotion from the LSG owner, he believes that such things should be taken inside a closed room.

Submitting their (LSG) defeat to SRH, Goenka was seen getting hyper on the LSG skipper and questioning his strategy. Every other online fan was seen getting furious over this clip and urged the latter to opt for a better franchise in the next IPL season.

The owner is very passionate about his team- Graeme Smith

Smith expressed his feelings on this incident and stated on Jio Cinema:

“It’s the owner who is very passionate about his team. His team has taken an absolute drubbing, and the emotions have rolled over. You feel these conversations should be happening behind closed doors. There are so many cameras around; they’re not missing anything. KL Rahul would now go to press conference and other things and potentially explain what’s been discussed,”

KL Rahul‘s 29-run in 33 deliveries was not something that you could appreciate. The Lucknow Super Giants managed to bag only 165 in 20 overs. But, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) achieved the milestone in just 9.4 overs only with the help of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma.

Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat- KL Rahul

KL Rahul confessed at the post-match presentation that he was left completely speechless, given how furiously SRH openers smashed the ball as they were invincible.

“Am lost for words. We have watched that kind of batting on tv. But this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six-hitting skills. They didn’t gave us a chance to know what the pitch played in the second innings. Was hard to stop them as they teed off from the ball one. Once you are on the losing side, there are question marks on the decisions taken,” the 32-year-old mentioned.

The SRH achieved the target in only 10 overs, remarkably increasing their chance for the playoffs.
