After Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 24 runs at the Wankhede on Friday, May 4, in the IPL 2024, former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop praised KKR captain Shreyas Iyer. Bishop drew attention to the fact that Shreyas Iyer‘s brilliance as captain has gone unnoticed this season because KKR is now the team qualifying, and Bishop feels he is not receiving the appropriate number of credits.

The Knight Riders, who are currently ranked second in the points table with 14 points, will face the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday, May 5, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Shreyas Iyer has led the Kolkata-based franchise to seven wins in ten matches thus far in the 2024 IPL. Shreyas Iyer has been in two minds whether to attack or defend, due to which he hasn’t been able to dictate the terms.

As he discussed the significance of their IPL victory over MI on Friday, captain Shreyas demonstrated his altruism in evaluating performances. He commended Manish Pandey and Venkatesh Iyer for their efforts in reaching a competitive total and for their special recognition for the bowling unit.

KKR Captain Shreyas Iyer is being supported by former West Indian player Ian Bishop.

Former West Indian player Ian Bishop gave KKR captain Shreyas Iyer some crucial advice, saying that while losing is always the captain’s fault, winning is always the result of other people’s contributions, such as Minat’s presence on the field at that particular moment, which Shreyas did well despite lacking in his contribution.

“KKR lose, its all his fault. KKR win, the praise belongs to others. Shreyas Iyer’s life as captain.” deleted tweet by Ian Bishop
