Former Indian Player Sanjay Manjrekar has stated in Star Sports Auction Preview Show, that he wants Dhruv Jurel and other young Players to be backed by the Rajasthan Royals just like they’ve been doing with Riyan Parag for several seasons.

Dhruv Jurel started in the playing 11 from the mid-season of the previous edition and did well scoring 152 runs at an impressive strike rate of 172. He played some handy innings down the order and looked like a good deal. He replaced Riyan Parag who had a season to forget once again scoring just 78 runs with a strike rate below 120.

Both have been retained by the franchise ahead of the mini-auction after impressive domestic seasons, Riyan Parag in particular delivered big time scoring a record 6 consecutive half-centuries in the T20 format and it will be interesting to see who going to start in the playing 11 next season.

RR continue to back Rian Parag- Sanjay Manjrekar

With the IPL 2024 buzz going around with trades and auctions coming up, Sanjay Manjrekar has said that Rajasthan might need a little more strength in their batting. Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out that RR need a little bit more strengthening and was quite hopeful that Dhruv Jurel gets the backing like Riyan Parag

“They continue to back Riyan Parag. I think they might need a little more strengthening of batting and I hope they back Dhruv Jurel because there was something there last season. They need to start trusting other players the way they do with Riyan Parag,”

He added that trading Avesh Khan from LSG was a good decision and would provide some support to Prasidh.

“I like the fact that they have gone for somebody like an Avesh Khan, so there is a little more support there for Prasidh Krishna. This is another team that looks all stacked up.”

Furthermore, he feels that Rajasthan have good depth in the spin department with the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. And they might go for someone like Gerald Coetzee in the Auction.
