It’s common for emotions to run high after a tough loss, and animated discussions between team members can happen. Lance Klusener’s downplaying of any rift between Sanjiv Goenka and KLRahul suggests that any such discussions are likely part of the normal process of analyzing performance and finding ways to improve. It’s important for teams to address issues openly and move forward together, focusing on the next match and how they can bounce back stronger.
LSG is facing a tough situation in the cricket league. With back-to-back losses and a significant dent in their net run rate, they’re certainly under pressure. However, the fact that they still have 12 points after as many matches keeps them in contention, although with a slim margin.
The upcoming matches against strong teams like the Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians will be crucial for LSG. They’ll need to perform exceptionally well to not only win these matches but also improve their net run rate significantly. Since they’ve finished their home games for the season, they’ll have to rely on their away form to secure a spot in the later stages of the competition.
I guess it’s just a storm in a teacup- Lance Klusener on the verbal exchange between Sanjiv Goenka & KL Rahul
The clip of Sanjiv Goenka lashing out at KL Rahul is going viral. The fans and cricket pundits have been outraged and are criticizing the rude behavior of Goenka towards his team’s captain. But, the assistant coach of LSG Lance Klusener ignored the situation and later claimed it was ‘a storm in a teacup’, regarding the clash between DC and LSG.
“I don’t see any problem with some robust discussions between two cricket lovers. So for us, I guess it’s just a storm in a teacup. We love a robust discussion. I think that’s how teams get better. So, it’s not a big thing for us,” Klusener mentioned at the pre-match press conference.
He probably feels like he’s always having to rebuild – Lance Klusener feels losing wickets at tough times has made it difficult for KL Rahul this season
The selectors of the Indian squad excluded Kl Rahul from the T20 World Cup and chose Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant. KL Rahul has achieved a decent score of 460 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 136.09.
“KL has got his own unique style which has made him a fantastic player and respected around the world. I think this IPL has been exceptionally tough for him because we’ve kept losing wickets at stages which hasn’t allowed him to kick on where he likes. He probably feels like he’s always having to rebuild,” Klusener defended KL Rahul.
“I think as a batting unit around KL, we haven’t been as good as we should. It’s just been extremely tough conditions for him. That’s something we’ve chatted about as well – we’ve just kept losing wickets at tough times,” he concluded.
