Gujarat Titans (GT) won the match by three wickets on Sunday in Mullanpur against Punjab Kings (PBKS). PBKS captain Sam Curran agreed that the opposition team had spinners who gave them a tough time, halting their score to 10 to 15 runs short. Sam Curran‘s form with both the bat & ball has been a concern for the team as the extra responsibility of leading the side is not doing him any good.
GT skipper Shubman Gill & head coach Ashish Nehra would be very much happy with the team’s performance as earlier they were on a losing streak. It was a near perfect performance by GT and now they would be aiming to make the most of the winning run. Following PBKS’ loss by three-wickets to GT, PBKS stands at the 9th place on the points table followed by RCB at the last place at the scorecard, and GT at 6th position.
Sam Curran’s all total IPL 2024 run is only 152 in his eight innings at the strike rate of 116.3. Even though he got 11 wickets for his team in this season, his unpleasant performance has raised a lots of questions in the minds of fans and many cricket legends as the team struggles to move up in the points table overloading with mountains of pressure, as because Dhawan was out of the match due to his injury. PBKS currently struggles as they have lost four consecutive matches out of which they only won 2 and lost 6 matches.

Sam Curran was seen in the post match presentation. Sam Curran stated that the side put on a fight despite having a below par score on the board. Sam Curran gave credit to GT’s spinner R Sai Kishore. Sam Curran pointed out that if PBKS had a score above 160 then they would have been in a better position.
“ The effort with the ball was incredible, the commitment and fight was amazing, but it was not enough. The Afghanistan spinners are world class bowlers and Sai Kishore bowled really well, credit to them. That is the third time we have used that pitch, anything above 160 would have been a par total but we still fought well,” said Sam Curran.
