Mukesh Kumar was noticed after Chennai Super Kings picked him for the 2023 IPL. He played ten games, picking up seven wickets at an economy of 10.5. He made it to the Indian squad in all formats to strengthen the seam bowling attack for the tour to South Africa. He may not have added many numbers to the wicket columns, but he was noticed for his calm demeanor under pressure.
He has a long way to go to cement his place in the Indian team. It has not been easy for Mukesh Kumar, who had to bring his way into first-class cricket for Bengal. He is thirty, which means he is not on the right side of his career for a fast bowler, but you will see him do the hard yards whenever he is given a chance to play for the country.

Mukesh Kumar hails from Gopalganj in Bihar. He spends time with the aspiring youngsters from his town and shares his knowledge and experience with them. He has shared cricket equipment with them to help them perform better. He has distributed bowling spikes to many players in Gopalganj free of cost.
Mukesh Kumar understands the struggle of aspiring cricketers as he himself comes from a humble background. He made it to the big league by dint of sheer hard work and willpower. Let us hope he gets opportunities that he truly deserves to play for India.
“I have gifted a few bowling spikes to them,” said Mukesh Kumar on guiding youngsters in his hometown in Bihar in an interaction with PTI.
