The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly lodged a complaint about the animosity of the audience during India vs. Pakistan’s 2023 World Cup match in Ahmedabad, but former Indian bowler S. Sreesanth finds this hard to believe.

S Sreesanth said that if Pakistan had played better cricket, they would have received more acclaim and explained why it was only normal for supporters to support their own team. If they couldn’t take the strain, the 2011 World Cup winner also begged them not to travel to India.

In his recent interview, here is what S Sreesanth said:

“You will surely get praise from the crowd if you do well, and if you do wrong things, you will get criticized as well. As a team, you need to be ready for both sides. Mahi Bhai has always said to focus on the process because the pressure will always be there. Do not travel to India if you can’t handle the pressure out there. Go back. As it is, you’re playing that way,” said S Sreesanth.

S Sreesanth also expressed that Pakistan is nowhere close to defeating India

“Pakistan Coach Mickey Arthur said we would meet in the final. I don’t think Pakistan can ever beat India in an ICC trophy or in any other event. Even our C team can beat Pakistan’s Prime XI. Make an IPL team of players who are not playing; even they can defeat the Pakistan team for sure,” he added.

Poor Performance by Pakistan against India

The fierce rivals let down cricket fans at the ICC World Cup 2023 when they performed woefully against India. The potent Indian bowling lineup proved too much for their batting to withstand. Despite getting off to a good start, their few batters failed to capitalize on it. Nevertheless, a former Pakistani pacer expressed dissatisfaction, particularly with their batting display.

Their chances of finishing in the top four appear to be virtually gone after their defeat to powerful Australia in the most recent game. They will face formidable opponents like South Africa and England in their challenging battle. Therefore, Pakistan’s chances of making the top four are slim.
