ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Australia qualifies for Super 8. Australia remained unbeaten so they will be even more stronger in the Super 8. Skipper Mitchell Marsh and Co have done a great job in the group stage so now it’s time for them to conquer Super 8 and maybe they can even qualify for semis too.

Australia had rested Pat Cummins in the group stage but we might see him in the Super 8 since he is a World Cup-winning captain so his impact and role will be important, spinners had a big role in the group stage Adam Zampa was the leading bowler for them, pacers like Mitchell Starc, Nathan Ellis, etc. contributed well and so Australia had a great World Cup so far.

George Bailey speaks on Nathan Ellis

Former Aussie batter and chief selector George Bailey speaks on Nathan Ellis’s sacks from the team for Super 8. Nathan Ellis performed well in the group stage so his exclusion won’t be done the combination that Australia played in group matches will be continued if Pat Cummins comes back then some or the other will be benched but Carribean pitches are more spin-friendly so the spinners’ role will be more important. Triumph bowlers like Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazelwood who had rested will make a comeback which will be more impactful and dangerous. George Bailey said:

“Coming back to how we structure up two or three different ways … I certainly won’t be ruling Nathan Ellis out of that conversation. I think he’s got a fantastic skill set. I think they (the bowlers) all work together really well. It’s a nice squad balance to have.”

“It’s an option. One of the things that we’re big on, particularly in tournaments and World Cups, is having two or three styles of game that you can go to. That’s depending on the surface and the opponent.”

“Mitch (Marsh) coming back online as a bowler over the next week or so is another piece to that puzzle potentially. Then just weighing up (if) you look to extend that batting line-up if it’s a good wicket (or) if it’s an ordinary wicket,” he added.

Australia has plenty of options so it won’t have any problem it’s a complete team and knows how to perform in ICC tournaments, especially knockout matches. Australia will face India, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh in Super 8. Super 8 matches will commence on 19th June.
