The T20 World Cup is on in action-packed style with lots of intensity and the latest is the scrap between two former Pakistan cricketers Ahmed Shehzad and Babar Azam as the latter makes Babar Azam a “false king”. T20 cricket began fading from the said and then suddenly started blossoming in the media.

Ahmed Shehzad’s Outburst

While replying to Babar Azam’s stats in T20IS, Ahmed Shahzad said he does not deserve to be called the best batsman. Shehzad told the program that Azam’s average in T20 internationals hovers around 30, which is understandable due to him being one of the world’s best batsmen. He pointed to the areas where Azam had played only one hundred T20 internationals he said that it was not adequate to make him the best player.

“You have a strike rate of 112. You have an average of 26 in ICC events. You have played 207 balls in the powerplay but haven’t hit a single six. I think my stats from eight years ago are better than yours. You are a fake King! We play to help win Pakistan tournaments but you are only making a fool of fans on social media with your stats,”

Babar Azam’s Response

The young star Babar Azam has not said anything regarding Shehzad outburst but Babar fans are already gearing up to counter the post on social media. Critics have said that while Azam may have been average or subpar in T20 cricket, his overall bowling statistics across all formats still remain commendable. They also pointed towards the fact that Azam is currently playing for Pakistan for many years now and he has been their most reliable batsman irrespective of the format of the play.
This controversy must surely raise doubts over the character of Ahmed Shehzad who has been recently battling for an automatic place in the Pakistan cricket team. The outburst against Azam has been considered as one of the last attempts of the old hit man to get attention and remain relevant. On the other hand, Babar Azam has been one of the most unfortunate cricketers of Pakistan in recent ages who have played frequently well across the three formats.
These two gentlemen hit each other’s throat and there is no way the confrontation is going to stop soon as both of them are stand their grounds. The temperate outburst that came from Shehzad will not improve the general public’s perception towards Azam as one of the best batsmen in the world.
