ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Bangladesh started their campaign with a win but lost a low-scoring thriller against South Africa. Bangladesh is having decent form despite losing the T20I series against the USA still they have adapted to the conditions and made themselves comfortable.

Some players are showing their form while some are lacking way behind which is affecting the team. Youngster leggie Rishad Hossain has impressed everyone and Bangladesh has found a great player who can shape the future of Bangladesh cricket.

Sehwag and Parthiv bangs Shakib Al Hasan

While speaking of the current form of Bangladesh cricket some names need to be underlined who are out of form completely, and one of the names is the senior player of Bangladesh Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib has been out of form past many games and so it has affected the team’s performance, being a senior player it’s his responsibility to teach other players as a leader and keep calm while batting and playing for many years timing for any player improves. Shakib has the most wickets in the T20 World Cup and ODI World Cup too so he has ample experience but his experience is not seen. His current form in the World Cup is not worth praising and so he has been out of form for many months. In C Country like the USA where cricket is not played much the conditions are new to adapt to those conditions experienced players spend time on the pitch but he is losing wickets quite early playing either a handful of balls or scoring 10-15 runs. Former Indian openers Virender Sehwag and Parthiv Patel blame Shakib Al Hasan for his current form. Virender Sehwag says:

“If he was included in the squad for experience, then we were not able to see it. At least spend some time at this wicket, it is not like you are Hayden or Gilchrist who can play a pull shot of a short ball, you are just a player of Bangladesh.”

Further, Parthiv Patel adds:

“There are expectations on Shakib, and that is not wrong, because he has been playing since the first World Cup. Especially when the team is in trouble, the young players in the team will look up to him. Shakib said after losing the series to USA that it was a wake-up call.”

So, whether Bangladesh will qualify for Super8 or else this time also they will bid adieu to the tournament.
