Pakistan cricket team has had a topsy-turvy ODI WC 2023. Babar Azam hasn’t been able to dictate the terms in the championship which has hurt the team massively. Babar Azam also while leading the side hasn’t stood tall behind his bowlers in tough situations, also his verbal spat with Mohammad Nawaz during the final over against the South African clash was not good to see.

There are strong chances that Babar Azam would be sacked from the captaincy and the wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan would be handed the reins. PCB recently have sacked the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq after a conflict of interest case. Pakistan cricket is in chaos as multiple chairmen have been appointed over the last 6 months or so with Ramiz Raja, Najam Sethi and now Zaka Ashraf at the helm now.

Pakistan still have a glimmer of hope that they will have to win all the remaining 3 matches and with huge margin which and hope that other results go in their favor. Pakistani fans would be hoping that the side puts on a fight rather than blaming each other which they at the moment are doing.

Babar Azam is not at his best- Salman Butt

Salman Butt was seen speaking on his YouTube channel. Salman Butt was quite furious that Babar Azam’s What’s’ App chats were leaked to the public and said that it will have a negative impact on the skipper. Salman Butt stated that Babar Azam looks preoccupied which is not a good sign for Pakistani cricket.

“It was very saddening to see Babar Azam’s personal chat being leaked in the media. It shouldn’t have been sent to the new channel. Also, the media house published the screenshot without Babar’s permission,” said Salman Butt.

“The privacy of Pakistan’s captain should not have been breached this way, especially at a time when the team is struggling a lot. Babar will be in a very awkward position when the media raises these questions during a post-match press conference,” he stated.

“The Pakistani batters haven’t been able to convert their starts into big scores. Babar Azam has to bear all the load because of that. Almost all batters have been scoring 30-35 runs at the best. Babar is not at his best but still scores 40-50. He is the best batter in Pakistan. However, he is definitely mentally preoccupied with the things that have been going on,” he added.
