Former South African batter Hashim Amla gave a bit of important advice to his players after the World Cup. Hashim Amla warned African players that playing in India is a beautiful experience and a challenge. The African player said that it will not be easy to play in front of the Indian audience, hence it is important for the players to first calm down the turmoil going on in their mind.

South Africa is scheduled to play against India on November 5 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata where the crowd is always high. It will not be easy for African players to bear this pressure in such a situation. Playing against India on any ground in India is no less than a big challenge, players who have played in IPL will know this but for those who are coming to India for the first time to play the World Cup or any river league, India is a big challenge. It will not be easy at all to play against India in India.

“Over the last couple of years, he has gone a few levels up” – Hashim Amla on Temba Bavuma

While talking to  iol.com.za, Hashim Amla also praised South African captain Temba Bavuma and commented on his recent form and said that it is very important for a captain to lead the team on the basis of his performance.

“Temba is an amazing player. Over the last couple of years, he has gone a few levels up. I remember when Russell (Domingo) was coach, we always felt Temba would be an amazing one-day cricketer. For me, it’s no surprise that he’s done well. To have a captain leading from the front, runs-wise, is very important. He has the respect of the players, so the blocks are lining up nicely for something great to be achieved.” said Hashim Amla

“The loudest noise is the one in your head. So, you’ve got to keep track of what your thoughts are, keep pulling yourself to the moment of what needs to be done, and then succeed in that moment. Playing in India is going to be amazing for them. Some may not have, some may have experienced it, having played IPL. I would think most of them would be used to the buzz and excitement, which was not there 10 years ago,”  he added.

Amla also selected 4 teams from his side which are contenders to reach the semi-finals of this World Cup.

“I’ll go with India, Pakistan, South Africa and England,” he concluded.
