Indian cricket team will have to undergo a stern test when they lock horns against New Zealand on 15th November at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Rohit Sharma will be aware of the fact that they have to start afresh in the knock-out stages as one bad day can spoil all the hard work of the team. Rohit Sharma is in the form of his life as his attacking gameplan has bamboozled the opposition.
Head coach Rahul Dravid & management will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat as New Zealand would be eager to take revenge for the league stage defeat. With Kane Williamson back at his best, we can expect a thriller as there are chances that dew would come into action which would make life harder for the bowling team.
India will have to carefully negate the threat of the left-arm pacer Trent Boult during the powerplay overs as his 10 overs can define the result of the match. New Zealand should make James Neesham bowl 4-6 overs as the flamboyant all-rounder has got cunning variations that can fox the batters.
India looks like the team to beat- Mike Hussey
Mike Hussey was having an interaction with the media ahead of the India vs New Zealand clash. Mike Hussey pointed out that India’s squad looks amazing and they have got all the bases covered. Mike Hussey stated that today’s generation of players don’t care about the past or previous records and are concerned about the present.
“India looks great, don’t they? Their squad looks amazing. They’ve got all the bases covered, really. They’re playing with confidence. They look like they’re loving it at the moment,” said Mike Hussey
“Obviously, they look like the team to beat, no question. For me, the question mark coming in was, could (India) handle that home pressure, playing in front of their home crowd and delivering. I still want to see them play in the knockout stage, where you lose, you go home. Does that change their mentality at all?” he stated
“My observation of this generation of players is they don’t really care. They don’t really care about the past. They’re writing their own destiny. This new generation of Indian cricketers, they don’t seem to worry about the old baggage or the old scars. They’re trying go out there and forge their own destiny,” he added.
