India’s dashing batter KL Rahul silenced all the critics by smashing a breathtaking ton against Pakistan. KL Rahul looked in sublime touch as the batter was seen taking calculative risks and capitalized on loose deliveries. KL Rahul along with Virat Kohli played with the minds of Pakistani bowlers as the duo frustrated the bowling unit by rotating the strike.

It is assumed and believed that KL Rahul has sealed the ODI WC 2023 spot and is expected to bat in the middle order. KL Rahul showed why he is still one of the best batters in the world as there was a sense of maturity in his knock which was missing in the past year or so.

Head coach Rahul Dravid would be delighted as the batting unit clicked and with the ODI WC 2023 around the corner, these are the alarming signs for the opposition teams. The only concern for the management would be the injury of Shreyas Iyer who is reported to have back spasm as Ishan Kishan may have struck an 80 run knock against Pakistan but he doesn’t have a promising record in the middle order for his domestic as well as for the national team.

The management have backed KL  Rahul to keep wickets- Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir was having an interaction with the Star Sports and was quite impressed with the way Rahul performed against Pakistan & Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2023. Gautam Gambhir was quite sure that Rahul has sealed the no.4 batting position and said that the batter is all set to be the wicket-keeper for ODI WC 2023.

“I think the team management has made it very close that it’s going to be KL Rahul who would be keeping in the World Cup because there was Ishan Kishan, and if Kishan was in the scheme of things of playing on the 11th against Australia, then he would have kept the wickets for India because he was the main wicket-keeper but not in the last two games KL Rahul has kept the wicket,” said KL Rahul.

“So the number five position is now open. Whether Shreyas Iyer comes into it, whether they play Suryakumar Yadav at seven and Hardik Pandya, at five or Ravindra Jadeja at five, now KL Rahul has secured that number four spot as a wicket-keeper batsman. So it is pretty much clear, which is good for Indian cricket that they have backed KL Rahul as a wicket-keeper now and who’s batting at number four,” he added.
