India has done well against Australia in big ICC tournament- Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly was having an interaction with Revsportz and was asked about Australia’s chances for ODI WC 2023. Sourav Ganguly pointed out that India will always be a favorite side for the showpiece tournament. Sourav Ganguly pointed out that India’s success will depend on how the fast bowlers fare out.

“Australia is a very good side, but it is surely not the same Australian side as 2003. India has done well against Australia in the big ICC tournament; India beat the Aussies in the 2019 World Cup, for example, and has the potential to do well against Australia. While this team in Australia is very good, it isn’t the same as in 2003,”

“India will always be a favorite in subcontinental conditions, especially on Indian soil. They have a very good team, and if the fitness of the players is good, they will always have a really good chance in home conditions. It will depend on how they play during the tournament and how the fast bowlers perform,” he said.

The last time India played the World Cup on their home soil, they emerged as the winners of the tournament, so this time around, India has had the upper hand over other teams in the mega event. It will be interesting to see how the men in blue approach the World Cup in 2023.
