AUS vs PAK: “Without Knowing It Ravichandran Ashwin Probably Been One Of My Biggest Coaches”- Nathan Lyon On Ravichandran Ashwin

Australian Off-spinner Nathan Lyon has showered praise on fellow Offie Ravichandran Ashwin. Nathan Lyon would be roaring  for the test series against Pakistan beginning on 14 December in Perth. The mighty Pakistan cricket team have a surprise element in them which makes them a team to beat and unpredictable

Both the offies made their entry into the test arena in the same year(2011) and are still going pretty strong. Both the Spinners are currently on the verge of completing 500 wickets in the tests. The Aussie currently stands with 496 wickets while the Indian veteran currently stands on 489 wickets in test cricket and both will itching to reach the milestone in the upcoming month.

Nathan Lyon & Ravichandran Ashwin have faced several times in their career and both had their moments in those games. No matter how many comparisons we draw between them, we all have to accept the thing that both are modern greats and both have won many games for their countries.

Addressing the media ahead of their clash against Pakistan Nathan Lyon has spoken about his Indian counterpart highly saying that he is one of the best in the business and has learned so much from his fellow offie.

Nathan Lyon said,

“You look at Ashwin, he’s a world-class bowler and somebody I’ve watched closely from the start of his career We’ve gone head-to-head many times in different conditions around the world. I’ve got nothing but respect for Ashwin and the way he’s gone about it,”

Nathan Lyon added,

“I’ve definitely learned from him. There’s an opportunity to learn from the people you play against, and without knowing it he’s probably been one of my biggest coaches in a way. It’s pretty amazing to see we’re both creeping up to that 500 mark, and we’ll see where we end up. Hopefully, at the end of our career, we’ll sit down and have a nice feed and a beer and talk about it,”

Replying to a news article by India Today Veteran Aussie Spinner has said that there will be a tight competition to pick a venue if he and Ravichandran Ashwin meet after they end their careers. However, The Aussie spinner feels that both of them still have pretty much left in their tanks and will continue for some years.

“I’m sure the competition to pick the best venue for this catch-up will be strong, but we both have a few good years left in us yet @ashwinravi99 💪”

Both the spinners will be looking to enter the 500 wicket club in the coming month and etch their names in the history.
