There has been a lot of buzz around the Australia vs Pakistan Test series and some unnecessary drama heading into the series. Mitchell Johnson & David Warner can be seen in the war of words where Johnson stating that why David Warner is getting special treatment for his Test match retirement.

Johnson even stated that David Warner hasn’t done any great and his form over the past 3 years hasn’t been that encouraging. Even Shane Watson has questioned David Warner’s Sydney Test retirement. In all these chaos, we are forgetting that there is a Test series to be played between the two Giants of World cricket.

Pakistan are starting a new chapter after the board & selection panel snatching captaincy from Babar Azam. Babar Azam’s form has taken a bad hit with captaincy and now the batter can bat free of any pressure and play his natural attacking game rather than getting into the shell.

I think I need to be the mediator- Ricky Ponting

Ricky Ponting was having an interaction with SunRise. The Legendary skipper made it clear that the duo Mitchell Johnson- David Warner should not make statements in the media and said that he needs to calm down the things which somewhat have gone beyond control with arguments heading back to Ashes 2023 selection.

“I have to get in between these two guys at some stage … I think I need to be the mediator and get them both in a room and let them have it out rather than playing it out in the media. They’re both pretty feisty characters and we know this issue that’s come up now goes back six or eight months, back to the Ashes selection,” said Ricky Ponting.

“That’s where it all started. It sounds like an issue that’s gone on without either of them sitting down and having a face-to-face conversation. I’d like to see that happen,” he stated.

“David Warner is not the one that’s coming out saying all this stuff about a farewell tour, he just wants to do line up next week in Perth in that Test match and score some runs and he’s made it clear he wants to finish off in Sydney,” he added.
