Michael Vaughan, a Former England Cricketer, responded to Pakistan’s defeat against Australia on Day 4 of the first Test in Perth. The first test match between Australia and Pakistan was played recently in Perth, and Australia won by an enormous margin of 360 runs. Michael Vaughan was quite impressed with the way Aussies dictated the terms against Pakistan.

On the Day-4 of the test, with the attacking approach from the Australian batsmen and the fifties from Khawaja and Marsh, Australia set the mammoth target of 450 runs for Pakistan. The Australian bowlers dominated and didn’t gave the Pakistani batters any opportunity. With Lyon’s 500th Test wicket, the Australian pacers enjoyed themselves immensely. In Australia, Pakistan was bowled out for their third-lowest total.

The cricketer-turned-commentator, Michael Vaughan who is known for his tweets, commented about the massive victory of Australia by 360 runs. Michael Vaughan reckons that only Team India have the tools to compete in Australia.

Michael Vaughan’s remarks should be viewed in context with the fact that India defeated Australia 2-1 when playing tours in 2018–19 and 2020–21, respectively, captained by Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane. Australia has won three home Test series against South Africa, the West Indies, and England since then. They won by a decisive 360 runs earlier today against Pakistan , continuing their reign at home.

Michael Vaughan gave special appreciation for off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who joined the Test cricket 500-wicket list as just the second off-spinner (after Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka). The other three spinners to take 500+ wickets in Test cricket are India’s Anil Kumble (619), Australia’s Shane Warne (778), and Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan (800).

Australia have everything covered for all conditions-Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

“Aussies are so clinical .. they have everything covered for all conditions .. Well done to @NathLyon421 on 500 Test wickets .. Incredible achievement .. Only @BCCI have the tools to compete here in Oz at this stag ..”

Apart from their defeats against India, the Australians have not lost a Test series at home since they were defeated 2-1 by South Africa in 2016–17. But when the Proteas last went on tour in 2022–2023, they were defeated 2-0 by Australia.

“Great start to the summer”-Pat Cummins responds after Australia’s decisive victory over Pakistan in the Perth Test match

After Australia defeated Pakistan in the first Test to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, skipper Pat Cummins was pleased. He acknowledged Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, and David Warner for their superb efforts during the contest. In his post-match comments, Cummins said:

“Great start to the summer. Everything fell in place really so couldn’t be happier. We’ve played a lot of cricket here, it’s an experienced side so the build-up was very chilled and relaxed.”

“(On Warner) That was huge. His and Uzzy’s (Usman Khawaja) partnership at the start really set it up for us. To get 350 odd (on the first day), we were really ahead of the game from the first day.” he said.

“(On Marsh) He’s one of the favorites of the West, he’s also one of my favorites. It’s great to see him back in Australia and playing a Test after five (six) years.” he further added.

“(On Lyon) 500 Test wickets around the world is huge. Couldn’t be happier for him. He was out for six months with a calf injury and it’s great to see him back.” he concluded.

Australia and Pakistan will play their second test match which is a boxing-day test match on December 26.
