India scored their biggest win against Pakistan ever after defeating their arch-rivals by a massive 228 runs in Colombo. India’s top-order ravaged the understaffed Pakistan bowling attack and piled up a mountain of runs, finishing at a score of 356 for 2, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scoring tons. The former cricketer Kamran Akmal was speaking on his YouTube channel and criticized the approach of the Pakistan batters, as they continued with their aggression despite wickets falling continuously. This aggression led to their dismissal and contributed to their massive defeat and it turn affected the Net run rate.
“At least tell players to stay on the crease. Your run rate has suffered badly. You chased 190-odd runs in 40-odd overs against Bangladesh,” said the former wicketkeeper-batter.
Akmal was critical of the team’s game plan and approach, even alleging that some players were irresponsible as they were not answerable to the board. He felt that the batters could’ve stayed on the crease more and put some more runs on the board.
“Send messages. The way Shadab, Iftikhar, Salman got out. You had to tell them to play the full overs, take the score to at least 260-280. They know the PCB won’t ask them tough questions. There’s no game plan, no approach” said Kamran Akmal.
