ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Pakistan took an early exit from the World Cup as they performed very poorly and so they are now facing many backlashes which is impacting their cricket board. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was quite nervous about the performance in the World Cup. They lost to the USA and India which affected their ranking points and so they lost the chance to qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup, they need to play qualifiers and then they will be included in the Group stage.
Ramiz Raja is not happy with PCB
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi earlier had stated that this team needed major surgery kind of taunt which we gave hilariously everyone started trolling him and now some reports also stated that the board has decided to cut off the salaries of players and senior players like Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan would also lose the Grade A status. If a team doesn’t perform well does not mean that players salaries will cut-off over the years they practice getting a chance to represent their country. Such harsh decisions are not the solution if doesn’t perform well then they should restart from zero and come up with new players and build a new squad but a salary cut is a bad decision. This decision even former Pakistan batter Ramiz Raja also denied and crossed with PCB. Ramiz Raja said:
“This is beyond me. Cricketers should be paid, simple as that. They have a limited career and PCB has a lot to give to the cricketers,” Raja said, as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
“If you decrease or withhold the salary of a workforce then it will result in the workforce leaving the job. This is an incredibly delicate matter that as a punishment you are decreasing or holding back the salary of someone,” he added.
The former PCB chairman further stated that it would be a “knee-jerk” reaction if PCB decided to cut the salaries of the players. “As I have said before, this is a knee-jerk reaction and you can not improve the standard by increasing or decreasing the pay of the cricketers,” he concluded.
So, Babar Azam’s captaincy is still suspense whether he will continue as captain or resign as captain yet once again. A few days ago newly appointed head coach Gary Kristen also showed disappointment for the Pakistan team while on social media, he mentioned that no teamwork is seen, everyone is scattered and none of them respect anyone’s decision.
